My suffering was good for me,
for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.
So many times, I have avoided connecting with the Lord until I am in a tense or hurting situation.
Some days I have learned to listen while others were hurting and suffering and try, try to pay attention.
And then I forget. With the spiritual attention span of a wilely toddler, I miss blessings, and lessons, and nudges.
The cycle begins again.
God is faithful.
God makes something beautiful out of my suffering, the consequences for my impulsive or selfish choices, and hope reigns again.
