Holy Place

God comes close to the brokenhearted. Those in need. Those hurting.

I saw God today.
Not in the sunrise, though it was fascinating.
Not in the smell of Spring, though it was refreshing.

I saw God in the pain of a mother saying goodbye to her young children, possibly forever, God’s pain of separation from the Son was evident. God is familiar with that pain. God was near.

A pain that hurts so much you cry until you vomit. Pain that brings back memories so strong, even those standing near to help can barely stand.

And God sees and God comforts and yet pain is still raw and difficult to withstand.

And God stands by. The same place when the Son was battered possibly with the same emotion. This world  is not plan A since we blew the Garden experience. God provides people to stand with us. God just provides.

Hope is present. Even though it doesn't really feel hopeful. Each breath is pregnant with the chance of healing and hope.
