3. When do you put up the tree?
Whenever I get the time…this year it was random
4. When do you take the tree down?
Sometime near the 1st of January. It depends on how much of the time between Christmas and New Year that we are at home
5. Do you like eggnog?
Yes, but then there is the new issue of milk sensitivity (or old, who knows)…Silk’s “Nog” is a poor replacement, but not so heavy which is good!
6. Favorite gift received as a child? Since the back surgeries, there is much missing from my memories…sorry
7. Do you have a Nativity scene?
Not usually
8. Hardest person to buy for?
Dad b/c he has what he needs and I don’t have the money to support his hobbies. He likes the meaningful stuff, so I end up messing that one up it seems. This year will be good, though.
9. Easiest person to buy for?
My niece, Winter…one of everything!
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
Not telling!
11. Mail or email Christmas cards?
This year was email primarily and LOVED it! Not sure about next year.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
I kind of hate Christmas movies and avoid them. Man, I’m kind of a jerk!
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
January, since I tend to make more presents than buy.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
HECK yes.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
No traditions there. Well, that is not completely true. I always love chocolate the best!
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree?
We have colored now until they burn out and then it is what is on sale
17. Favorite Christmas song?
Currently, it is Christmas Cookies by George Strait
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?
We end up travelling always. We were at home last year and it was depressing. The travelling gets old, though. Not having kids stinks at Christmas more than most days of the year. When we weren’t here at the Boys’ home, I didn’t even decorate.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
Well, let’s see…is there one named Bubba?
20. Angel on the tree top or a star?
A cool rusted star that was on sale last year!!
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
Depends on a million things…with whom and where. I like opening them on Thanksgiving b/c it is quicker!
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year?
The commercialization of it all. I want to not buy things but make them instead because it irritates me the way the industries have become.
23. Favorite ornament theme?
This year it has been stars and blue/silver. That is, of course, in addition to all the ornaments that have been given to us over the years. No real theme, I guess.
24. Favorite food for Christmas dinner?
No tradition there…I like having different themes. Except for the fact that dessert is always my favorite.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year?
World peace?
I want for all “my” boys, present and former to know that God and I love them very much and that they have a place in my heart that is permanent.
I want there to be no more instances of Satan hurting kids and for families to WAKE UP and look to Jesus ("stop asking Oprah what to do" Casting Crowns).
I want Christ to shine out of me more this next year than last.
I want my new niece or nephew to arrive safely in a few months.
I want unlimited energy for scrapbooking.
