When we let Mercy back in the house, we almost always wipe her paws off. It has improved the general cleanliness of the floors. She is usually good with it and even has learned to give you her paw when you tell her to do so. Troy has taught her this. I just stumbled around and didn't make it fun, but he's a good furdad.
When it is me letting her in, she is just sure that I've eaten something. When I bend down to wipe her paws, she sniffs my breath. It cracks me up every time. She is aware of our patterns. I eat early and Troy eats late. She usually doesn't go for her dog food until we've eaten.
